Wat
Pho, also known as Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm
Pajwaramahaviharn, is one of among the top list of must-see
places in Bangkok, located on area of 20 acres, claimed
the largest temple in Bangkok, just behind the Grand
Palace complex. Wat Pho is very close to Chao Phraya
river opposite to Wat Arun (Temple
of the dawn). Wat Pho Temple is first class royal monastery.
Wat Pho is also the oldest temple in Bangkok, built around
200 years before Bangkok become the capital of Thailand.
Wat Pho was mainly renovated and reconstructed during reign
of King Rama I. The most popular attraction in Wat Pho is
Vihara of Reclinging Buddha, more over, the most number
of Buddha images in Thailand are kept in this temple. Wat
Pho is also known as the origin of Thai Traditional massage,
the first and the of Thai Traditional massage School in
Thailand is in Wat Pho.

Vihara of The Reclining Buddha,
or Phra Buddhasaiyas This hall is built to keep the most
beautiful Reclining Buddha Image in Thailand. The Reclining
Buddha Image is 46 meters long and 15 meters high. At the
soles of the feet of the image are 108 auspicious signs
of the Buddha. which is mother-of-pearl inlay in Thai-Chinese
style.
Phra Maha Chedi Si Rajakarn
is a group of four Royal Great Pagodas enclosed by white
wall. Each Great Pagodas is 42 meters tall. The pagodas
are decorated with colorful mosaics. The great green pagoda,
named Phra Maha Chedi Sri Sanpetdayarn, was built during
the reign of King Rama I. The Pagoda with white mosaics,
Phra Maha Chedi Dilok Dhammakaroknitarn, constructed during
reign of King Rama II. The yellow one, Phra Maha Chedi Muni
Batborikharn, was built during reign of King Rama III and
the final one with blue tile mosaic, Phra Maha Chedi Song
Phra Srisuriyothai, was built in the reign of King Rama
IV.
